How sessions with Sloan work:

When you meet with Sloan, you will talk about your symptoms and your current life stressors. You will work together to determine a plan for you to feel and function better. After careful assessment she will present appropriate treatment options. Her approach is always based on respect, empowerment, and collaboration in the treatment process.

What are the benefits of working with Sloan versus another therapist, coach, healer, or helping professional?

A good therapist does her own work. Sloan knows that the healing modalities she offers are effective because she has personally experienced the benefits of all of them. She has a wide range of tools to work with. Sloan knows her limits and will refer out when necessary.

What do clients value about Sloan as a person and as a professional?

Sloan's clients value her professionalism and integrity. She treats people how she would like to be treated. They value her commitment to the mental health profession, and to their well being.  She is constantly upgrading her skills and knowledge base. Her ultimate goal is to put herself out of a job by having clients confidently moving forward on their own. With Sloan's help, clients find their own inner resources, so that her guidance is less needed over time.

What successes has Sloan had and why?

Sloan is happy to report that generally clients feel better and function better after working with her. They benefit from the skills and knowledge they learn in therapy. Many are so happy with what they learn and experience that they refer Sloan to their friends and family members.

What can clients anticipate or expect from their work with Sloan?

Clients can expect to learn about themselves: why they react the way they do; why they keep experiencing the same, or similar problems, over and over again; why they struggle with addictions, depression, or anxiety. Clients can expect to have more clarity, hope, and emotional balance.
